Kingdoms

As bro Taylor gave us a message this morning…
I thought about certain moments in my favorite movies where the master, king, teacher, leader, lord confides in those he considers a true friend, brother, son.
Jesus says in John 8:35 “Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.”
When we give our lives to Jesus we become a son/daughter to God.  We became family members to an everlasting kingdom.
Jesus also uttered these words, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15
Our Lord and Savior Jesus confides in us does He not?  He shares with us the mysteries of God to encourage and elevate our thinking/understanding beyond the pretenses of this world’s ideologies-walls that surround us.
We become ambassadors of Christ.  Our authority, rights, desires, needs come from God who is the source of all good things- His good, pleasing and perfect will.  We desire joy, peace, God’s gracious and merciful love, wisdom and we receive without limit as we yield everything - soul, heart, mind over to Him.
We are God’s domain after all… for He has translated us by His Spirit and blood.
The kingdom of God (not always ushered in with visible signs) comes in the knowing He has changed us supernaturally inwardly.   And with our continual hope and trust in Him we will be continually established in what God has intended in Himself.
Think about that last phrase for a second… “And with our continual hope and trust in Him we will be continually established in what God has intended in Himself”.
We “are” because of Him.
For in us Jesus Christ’s Spirit (the Holy Spirit that reveals the deep things of God) lives in us…. We get to everyday by our choice to participate in the everlasting, renewing, strengthening things of God or not.
Robin Longstride, in the 2010 Robin Hood movie, speaks….
“If you're building for the future, you need to keep your foundations strong, laws of the land enslave the people to a king who demands loyalty but offers nothing in return, I've been to the South of France, Palestine and back, you build a kingdom the same way you build a cathedral from the ground up!”
We used to serve the kingdom of darkness.  We used to serve the prince of darkness- Satan.   We willing participated in darkness and even let the tormentors of fear, hatred, lust and depression come sit at our table.  That kingdom never offered us peace. That kingdom never offered us peace.   That kingdom never offered us grace, mercy and undeserved love and privilege.  It was weak and faulty and always making us thirsty and hungry.  And we know that dark kingdom will be destroyed with time itself when the everlasting kingdom comes and takes its place.  A kingdom without time.

A kingdom whose foundations are strong because they are set on God himself- Jesus Christ.
“And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.” 1 Peter 2:5

God is saying,  “Come…. mediate, confide and trust in Me.  Trust in my Son, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior.  The one who opens our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and sets us free from those things that want offer us nothing but enslavement.   And as we yield, trust, confide in God and His word- He gives us thought provoking, encouraging and elevating things of Himself…
Things that enrich, revive, liberate and last forever for the child, friend, priest of God.
Things that we can pass on and share with others- others who are endangered of an eternal doom because they are serve a kingdom of darkness instead of Jesus Christ who is the truth, the way and the life.  John 14:6

The Oil and Water of the Refugee Crisis

This is what came to mind this week:

The horses stands ready for battle but when it's time for battle the warriors lose their hope and nerve and go home.

Proverbs 21:31 "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord"

They have the numbers but their words and posture were false.  And when the flood of reality came, it undermined their thinking and they could no longer stand united together.

"Knowing their thoughts, he (Jesus) said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand." Matthew 12:25

Fragile we are.... Fools we are to not think so.... oh how we should cry out for wisdom for we would see the enemy clearly.... Like the Vikings of old who did not simulate but came to conquer- so there are those today who want to do the same.  They come for benefits not to simulate.

We have cultures that are oil and water - that are impossible to merge.  They do not share our values and knowing we have no comprehension of this they take advantage of our goodness.... Think! We are not dealing with individuals who grew up in Europe and have Judaeo Christian  values.

You are dealing with the exact opposite. They do not honor our courts.  They have already set up their own courts in Europe and right here in the USA in New Jersey. They have taken over neighborhoods by force, rape women and beat Christians and Jews.   I am talking about those who are Muslim.  Those who have come not for refuge and peace like some of the Syrians refugees...  no they come in a Trojan horse hidden amongst the genuine refugees....  They have killed, injured, beat, stolen ... how much is it going to take?  They have no respect for you and I.  Just do some research... look what is happening in England, France, and Sweden.  Look what is happening in New Jersey.  They don't want what most of us take for granted, they want what is Muslim and they don't care what you want!

The enemy knows our value system and is taking advantage of it because we do not use wisdom.  They know the values we were raised with but since we do not take discernment from Spirit of God- the enemy is stealing, killing, raping, beating and pillaging in the name of our "political correctness".  I want to remind you there is no political correctness with them.  Listen to them speak.

http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2017/march/why-mass-immigration-may-mean-the-end-of-britain

It is important to know truth not just in intellect but in Spirit.  Not knowing the truth we have nothing to stand on and without Spirit of God we lack conviction to stand in the truth and do what is right.  We throw pearls to swine and wisdom yells in the streets and in front of the court houses, "What are you doing!!!"

Wisdom fed up will laugh at our nations' destruction. Read it for yourself in Proverbs 3.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In the Bible, when God's people would no longer listen to him, He let them be overcome by their enemies.   When God's people no longer stood up for truth but went along with the surrounding society - what happened to them? Who simulated who? Who conquered who?

NOTE: You want a rapist to be tried in a Muslim court or an United States Court? A rapist would suffer nothing in a Muslim court and courts overseas have been letting Muslims deal with Muslims in Muslim courts.

Why were God's people conquered?  Because they no longer "knew" the truth.  It didn't live in their hearts.  They no longer had anything to stand on and nothing to stand on they had no conviction.

In a recent dream a police officer told me this is an unsafe neighborhood... lock up what you have...  in other words these are unsafe times, hold on to what you have been given by Christ.  Let no one persuade you away from the truth. Hold tight to the living truth in your soul.

Jesus said "I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown." Revelation 3:11

Hindered Prayers Part 4

“For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Romans 1:20

Did God answer my prayers when I lived as the world?  I must say, by His grace and mercy God did answer my prayers but why did he do so?  I mean my “god” was a salad version of the real God.  I now think back upon those answered prayers as if they were breadcrumbs or stones leading out of the desert of my misery to Him.

I am reminded of this verse:
“This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” 1 Timothy 2:4-5

By answered prayers God was helping me come to the knowledge of the truth BUT by no means was I receiving “empowerment” from God.  I was still hindered.  I had escaped the “troubles” of that moment BUT I was not free for long before I was suffering from some other trouble.  Yep “Futile”.

It wasn’t until AFTER I gave my life to Christ Jesus I discovered another aspect of prayer- empowering prayer.
“Unhindered prayer” is “empowered prayer”.  Empowered prayer is allowing the Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit) to empower us and often that includes the word of God.

Example: We feel the urge to worry.  The Holy Spirit reminds us of a verse like: “Don’t worry about anything instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.  If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Before I came to Christ Jesus I couldn’t “receive” this verse.  It was far out of my reach.   It wasn’t until I came to Christ Jesus that I received such a peace.  The Holy Spirit pinpoints the verse we need to “hear” so we can comply and when we comply -He then can implement this verse in our life.

Ephesians says by the Holy Spirit, we become God’s own people and receive everything God has promised in His word.  (Note Ephesians 1:13-14).

Don’t be fooled.   How can we be empowered if we don’t learn God’s word?  What can the Spirit work with to “activate” in our life if we don’t have truth in us?  THE Spirit activates “living” words in our life not myths?

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

Colossians 3:16 “Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise.  Use his words to teach and counsel each other.  Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.”

THE COACH

Who is the coach of your soul? Who inspires you? Who challenges you? Who disciplines your ways of understanding?

I think we all have had moments in life where we get tested, tired… weary… fail… doubt, want to presume, want to become indifferent, want to not care or even want to throw a temper tantrum like that 3 year old in Walmart.

But who brings you out of those moments?

Jesus… says to His bride (His church), “Hey love, who do you love? You know who you want to be looking at? Let me take your burden. Let me erase your doldrums. I will answer your need. I will be your cheer squad. I will give you reason to smile and help you overcome the cares of this life. I will give you “living” purpose and reason. I am all you need.”

Sounds like some love song, but is it SO true when it comes to Jesus? Jesus is the lover of our soul.

But to go about life as “usual” and to “ignore” God is to lose… lose… lose.

Some may say, “I want to go to heaven but I don’t care to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.”

Let’s challenge that thinking for moment: You would never tell the coach of the team you want to be on, “I am going to be on the team coach but I don’t want you coaching me.” We know it doesn’t work that way… so why would we think that would work with God?

Jesus is our LIFE COACH. He is the Sustainer. He IS the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. (John 14:6) No one gets into heaven without Him and no one succeeds in the things that truly matter in life without Him.

From His unlimited resources at His grasp Jesus is about us learning to live in Him… His reality from start to finish...

Hebrew 12:1-2 which says: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish…”

What is the reality of our day… how is our outlook? Is our perspective skewed by monotony, apprehension, dread, doubt, worry, fear, hopelessness, cares of tomorrow, cares of yesterday, or the cares of what the world says are important?

This is what Jesus said about this kind of thinking: “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.” Mark 4:19

No wonder why the word of God ALSO says:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

And

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2

There is NoTHING routine about the WAYS of God but how often have we gone about our day, taken the bait, and swallowed or surrendered to ROUTINE thinking instead of newest of God who lifts up our soul? How many times have we allowed “baited thinking” to put up it’s umbrella to divert that living water of God from pouring in our cup? If you find yourself there ask yourself: Where is the newest of this day? Where is the Spirit to stir up a fire in my soul?

Spiritual athletes just as athletes, to accomplish the feats in their path, must not yield to "baited thinking" but look beyond themselves.

* We most love God MORE then the things that add no COLOR to our day .
*To thrive… to endure… God’s breathed renewing Spirit must guide us in all things.
*God’s living word most be protected in our hearts and minds and not get choked out.

Jesus is our LIFE COACH. He must be given access, to teach, counsel, instruct, heal, inspire and to drive us to greater lasting and satisfying things.

That we may be spiritually equipped for what only God knows and awaits us.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Good way to start, is to lay down the oldness of yesterday. Look to what God has for today. Surrender your thoughts and seek living words that God is going to point out and drop into your heart and mind and let them manifest Him in us through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in the course, court, trail, and field of life.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

Just as a coach has plans for his players, God has a plan everyday for us but it’s our choice to listen to the LIFE coach of LIFE or not.

“From one man he (Jesus) made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’” Acts 17:26-28

Are you ready for the LIFE coach to move you? Are you ready to win with the one who has already experienced victory? Pretty awesome to think that God the Father sent His Son to make sure we would not only make it to heaven, for those who believe, but we would have life and have life to the fullest.

... Jesus is the answer.

Thanks for reading.

THE TREE

I was shown a vision.   There was this dark gray forest, a forest I thought at first were hairs on a dog in the moonlight.  But as I looked more closely I realized these were no hairs of a dog at all but trees.  They were trees without any limbs or branches.  There were thousands of tree trunks and they were all leaning like a great wind at blown them in all the same direction but within this sea of grey slivers I was guided to a single warm yellow light.  I looked closer and realized it was a tree, a tree of light.   It was small and I would had probably missed it if it hadn't been pointed out to me.  It had branches and leaves and it was standing upright.  A tree of light.... in a "barren" wilderness.

It does remind me of dream I had of a ocean and a forest.  A ocean that was pouring onto the land stripping the trees of their bark and laying their fruit to waste.   The trees were no longer getting their water from the mountain but the poisoning ocean.

If you have the Spirit of God living in you, you know the ocean is the sea of immoral humanity.  It poisoned the trees with it's sinful values, rules, mandates, human understanding and so called "improvements".  You can also figure the mountain is God, the source of life.

The forest in this vision also had been stripped.... and a darkness had come upon it.

When you think of the word “gray” what does it mean to you?

Gray isn’t black and white.  When things are not black or white, then there is no real sense of right and wrong.  When these things become gray how do we define things like justice, morals, sin, love...?

When people do not stand on what is right or wrong or know right from wrong then they are blown this way and that way like grass in the wind.  They can believe anything is right and true even though it is not.   Truth is not a matter of opinion.  Truth comes from God, what is written in His word.  When you have no REAL truth living in your soul then you just have a "barren" existence.

Think how those trees were stripped... why were they stripped?

Existing isn’t life but “Life” happens when God (TRUTH) is allowed to be engaged in a person’s soul.  JESUS made this possible.

Christians, God wants us to be that tree of light in a gray world.  He wants to sing in our branches-so to speak.

Yes Jesus said.... “Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.”  But He ALSO continued with: “ But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.  And the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come…” Matthew 23:12-14

Has the end come? No! Of course not, so why act as if it is so…  Our true HOPE is Alive and Well. And that hope in us is contagious because God, unlimited in encouraging resources and trustworthy promises, is OUR SOURCE!

Jesus spoke and there was light.  Jesus came into our life and a newness beyond our imagination came into our life.  We were transformed were we not? Light had come into our life! Truth had come into our life.

Jesus said “I am truth, the way, and the life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.”

John said "God is light" (1 John 1:5) and if you have Jesus then His light is to shine in you for He is the light of mankind. (John 1:4)

Jesus said to those who believe in him, “You are light of the world- like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see.  Don’t hide your light under a basket! Instead put it on a stand and let it shine for all.”

Let the goodness of God flow through you!  TRUST and call upon His goodness with expectation… and in this, the calm peaceful pleasant perfect centering will of God will be manifested in your life! Yes Joy!  And the dark things of this world will become POWERLESS in your life... as the saying goes.. "This too shall pass..."

Do you remember what Psalm 1 says?
"Oh the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers.
But they delight in doing everything the LORD wants; day and night they think about his law.   They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail.
Their leaves never wither, and in all they do, they prosper.  But this is not true with the wicked.  They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.  They will be condemned at the time of judgment.  Sinners will have no place among the godly.  For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Be that tree of light! No matter how small a tree you might think you are- God notices and points you out.

Consistency of GOD

The consistency of God must not be determined in the substrates of human understanding, which might be prejudice and carried in the matters of indecision.
The consistency/faithfulness of God is proven when God imprints himself on the individual regardless of earthly circumstances.
For the sky is veiled by blue in the day and only reveals the stars at night.
When one insists on the consistency of God and/or questions the consistency of God I wonder from what they are referencing.
I am not saying GOD is unfaithful but I am saying to really understand the consistency of God we must trust beyond the confines of the human conditions and mindsets that trip us up.  Let us take comforts for example.  American Christians wouldn't say creature comforts determine the faithfulness of God but if certain circumstances came upon them, would they question God's faithfulness?  Would they remember Job from the bible?  Would they remember all Jesus suffered and spoke?

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33
One who reads Ecclesiastes finds everything in this life is meaningless without God.  I do wonder if the American ideals of comfort have mixed into the American church, causing a weakness in the understanding the consistency of God.

And like Pastor Charles Stanley spoke this morning, sometimes God allows certain uncomfortable situations to occur in our life to get our attention, that he might benefit our soul.    I know that is true when it came to me coming to Jesus.  God had to get my attention- so I would not just drift along in the affairs of the world and life.
The proven consistency of GOD … needs to go beyond ourselves.  It needs to go beyond what we consider faithful in the faithful sense.  Is this not true... good as well as bad can be used for our good?
God touched on this last time.

“Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED." But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.…” Romans 8:35-37

Sense GOD is Spirit, his faithfulness does not just stop with the physical but through the Spirit, moves in us effecting our "mental/emotional state as an individual.  It causes a "self-control" that is not dependent on the faulty wiring within us.  We have peace though we should not have peace.  We are merciful in situations that could be unmerciful.  We are unforgiving in situations that seem unforgivable... and so on.

God's consistency is answering the spiritual need not just the physical need.

It is humbling to visit a 3rd world country and see people with hardly anything yet God is their strength.  And they know, regardless of what they have or not have, they are children of the Most High.
God allowed nearly everyone of his faithful disciples to be slaughtered except John who was boiled alive and survived? But did their faith in God break? Of course not! Jesus even told Peter how he would die.
Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go." Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me!" John 21:18-19
But how did God empower them?

God had to become BIGGER then the physical.  God had to become BIGGER then death.  The faith and consistency of God had to become known in the spiritual not the material or physical sense.
And throughout the centuries many Christians have been murdered and martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ but only stood to face the darkness because they saw WHO was mightier then the darkness.

God does care about our physical everyday needs to sustain this mortal body of ours, which is His temple. (John 2:20-22 Reference of Jesus speaking of His body has the temple)

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16

In many cases God’s temples has been trampled, ripped apart, shot, burned, beheaded, hung, crucified... hence not respected.

This temporal body, a temple, isn’t to last, it is only a vessel that holds our soul, our soul that is to be imprinted upon by God as we trust and submit in Him.  The soul is what matters most!  It is what will last forever! Not this body which will return to the ground.

“For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.” 2 Corinthians 5:1

We must recognize that our trust in God needs to go beyond confines of the human condition.   The human condition will be broken someday and the soul will be whatever God has made with it through our relationship with Him.

The Christian soul thrives when it seeks, looks and resigns itself to God in whatever comes but it suffers when it does not.

Jesus said he came to give life and life more abundantly.  In many aspects we must think of LIFE as not us having life but LIFE possessing us for GOD is LIFE.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” Johns 14:6

How many times have you seen a person’s faith grow stronger not dimmer in stimuli and circumstances that have brought about certain finalities?  What is supernaturally happening in those individuals?

Have you ever watched a Christian who is dying?  Have you ever heard the conversations and sentences they speak when they sleep?  Profound…

Their soul is being prepared to leave its dying and broken confines, in fact their soul even seems to come in and out of this reality, to where God is.

Their dying body struggles but beyond the body is a soul at peace and rest.  (Not so for the soul that is not a Christian.)

Then after all has been accomplished in the soul, God lifts the soul out the body like taking a long sleeve shirt off over someone’s head.   The hands go up and the head lifts, the eyes open briefly and then they are gone.   All that is left is a broken shell that was once animated by the soul.
The soul that was not made for this world but made for God, to glorify God on this earth in the body which is was given.

God DOES heal.  God DOES rescue.  God DOES restore.  God DOES provide.   I have experienced these things but but let's not the circumstances in life short change us in getting a fuller deeper understanding of the faithfulness of God.

“All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1:3-5

He Set's Us Free (Knowledge of the Truth)

-->
“Voice of Christ
My child, you must strive diligently to be inwardly free, to have mastery over yourself everywhere, in every external act and occupation, that all things be subject to you and not you to them, that you be the master and director of your actions, not a slave or a mere hired servant.  You should be rather free and a true Hebrew, arising to the status and freedom of children of God who stand above present things to contemplate those which are eternal; who look upon passing affairs with the left eye and upon those of heaven with the right; whom temporal things do not so attract that they cling to them, but you rather put these things to such a proper service as is ordained and instituted by God, the great Workmaster, Who leaves nothing unordered in His creation.”
Quote from Thomas A Kempis’ book entitled “The Imitation of Christ” pages 99-100
I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be one of those people who is always learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth.  Many Christians know what God’s words says but are still held captive by religious and worldly traditions/practices, ideals, understandings, mentalities, and perceptions about life then where God wants us.   We are living in a shadow far from how God wants us to see, breath and live. These things may not be obvious to us but when seated next to someone totally surrendered to God- they stick out.
Some might say we act like a dog chained to a tree.  The dog wants to be in the sun but the tree’s shadow is just a bit larger then the dog’s chain can reach.  We think, like an elephant chained to a little stick.  God wants us know there is no chain or stick.  God wants us to know we no longer have to live in the shadow of the tree of good and evil but are free to enjoy and eat and be nourished from the tree of life! The tree of living wisdom.
“Her ways are pleasant ways and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her fast. The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.…” Proverbs 3:18
Again coming to the knowledge of truth.
Today (Nov 19th) as I was listening to Stuart Briscoe on the radio, he too was speaking about this!  His message was entitled “By Living Like Enoch.

I know this wasn’t a matter of chance. God knew exactly when I would be listening to the radio.  He had prepared Stuart Briscoe to speak on this subject and knew when radio program would be airing the message.  God was in control of all the aspects and delivering them as a living word, a living word that was not only confirming what He (God) spoke to my heart but also encouraging me to live in the liberating reality He wants all His people to live in.
These are some of the verses Stuart Briscoe used.
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2
Letting go of control- not being conformed to this world, who thinks it has some kind of control.  Presenting our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice to God by resigning our selves to God.   Renewing and transforming our mind- by believing and seeing God as above all things.
In other words,
“We walk by faith not by sight.”  2 Corinthians 5:7
 It is to really know…
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
To come to the knowledge of this is to learn to live more attentive to His Presence, who orders our thoughts and contents of the heart, than being attentive to the naggings and cares and affairs of this life that often try to exalt themselves in our life over God.  And many times, when we are unaware, unguarded, tired, and overwhelmed- they can easily entangle us- they can succeed and cause things like depression, fear, anxiety, frustration, worry, and just plain yuck!
We forget that despite all things that come and across our path,
“Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love”.
The love that sets us free… look at the attributes of love in 1 Corinthians 1:13
“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?  Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, ‘For your sake we are killed everyday; we are being slaughtered like sheep.’) No despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below- indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35-39
We forget to let go and pray knowing God is more then capable.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7
God wants us to come to the living understanding that by the grace of God we will overcome not be overcome – all things will pass even death but a life in God is never lost.
God wants us to understand that in our reliance on Him and His love our entire attitude and mindset changes and there is self-control that is beyond us.
God wants us to understand He is with us in the most mundane to the direr of situations.
He is our peace.  He is our strength. He is our humble confidence because we have allowed Him to be in his rightful place in our hearts and minds and because we have done so His power and goodness is reflected in our lives.
We submit and honor God in Spirit and truth and in turn God gracefully honors and empowers our inner soul to overcome despite the circumstances.
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
I find at times the church misses aspects and spiritual mechanisms of this power and pride, ignorance, false piety, take over putting those who misunderstand this to shame and even endanger because they know the words of the truth but are not resigned to it in the manner they should.
In the same manner I believe man should not assign or assume the route in which God is to take us throw but know God will continually be with us to help persevere and continue to mature in our faith in HIM not us.  For who knows what can achieve what the LORD wants for the soul but the LORD?
We may look at failure negatively but God may look as failure as a way of achieving success for our eternal soul- and strengthening our dependence/ reliance on Him.  How many times has failure brought good fruit in one’s life?
“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
What we must ask is what kind of mentality is God trying to achieve for our soul that He loves?

So next time you face something that stretches you think, who has control? Who am I resigning myself to? Who am I trusting and depending on?  And see how God renews and transforms our thinking. See how perfect His will is in the knowledge of the truth- that God/Jesus is above all things and we stand with Him.

Living in the Knowledge of the Truth

-->

As my mind became quiet these words came to mind.
“To come to the knowledge of the truth.”
So I looked up this verse:
who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4
God doesn’t just want us to be saved but come to the knowledge of the truth- to live in it, understand it, and hence- be empowered by it!  God’s truth is not just some words on a page but guided empowered by the Holy Spirit liberate soul from all that is in the world, others, and ourselves.
They usher us into a new way of seeing day to day.
In paraphrasing what Pastor Antonio recently shared with me from Mexico, “God is manifesting goodness in our life, not by the limitations and strings of our conscious mind, but beyond.”
For me I was presented with a picture.  Our understanding is a hallway of doors.  Doors we have opened, experienced and lived by.  But when we come to the end ourselves we are presented with a DOOR that surpasses all the others doors of our understanding.  And when this DOOR opens and by the grace of God- this magnificent light floods our soul. It takes the blinders off, cleans, clarifies, unshackles, and makes new what has been exposed to the elements of this corrupted world.  We desire not the old doors but the ONE in which the light is pouring forth, the DOOR that gave us something much more satisfying and liberating then all the other doors that are were futile and ineffective.  This is the DOOR in which we desire.
“I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can shut.  You have little strength, yet you have obeyed my word and did not deny me.” Revelation 3:8
I am reminded of this verse.
“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:19
Just as the miracle of our salvation cannot be fully understood when we surrendered our life to Jesus Christ so it is when we continue to surrender to God daily (sanctification).  After all it is not we, (our strength, our might, or our intelligence that was so easily enticed by the flawed and fallen understanding) but the knowledge of truth working in our lives that comes only by surrendering to Christ.  It is God and in God alone.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 says “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”
C. S. Lewis wrote:

Let us picture a woman thrown into a dungeon. There she bears and rears a son. He grows
up seeing nothing but the dungeon walls, the straw on the floor, and a little patch of the
sky seen through the grating, which is too high up to show anything except sky. This
unfortunate woman was an artist, and when they imprisoned her she managed to bring
with her a drawing pad and a box of pencils. As she never loses the hope of deliverance she
is constantly teaching her son about that outer world which he has never seen. She does
it very largely by drawing him pictures. With her pencil she attempts to show him what
fields, rivers, mountains, cities and waves on a beach are like. He is a dutiful boy and he
does his best to believe her when she tells him that that outer world is far more interesting
and glorious than anything in the dungeon. At times he succeeds. On the whole he gets on
tolerably well until, one day, he says something that gives his mother pause. For a minute
or two they are at cross-purposes. Finally it dawns on her that he has, all these years, lived
under a misconception. ‘But,’ she gasps, ‘you didn’t think that the real world was full of
lines drawn in lead pencil?’ ‘What?’ says the boy. ‘No pencil marks there?’ And instantly,
his whole notion of the outer world becomes a blank. For the lines, by which alone he was
imagining it, have now been denied of it. He has no idea of that which will exclude and
dispense with the lines, that of which the lines were merely a transposition—the waving
treetops, the light dancing on the weir, the colored three-dimensional realities which are
not enclosed in lines but define their own shapes at every moment with a delicacy and
multiplicity which no drawing could ever achieve. The child will get the idea that the real
world is somehow less visible than his mother’s pictures. In reality it lacks lines because it is
incomparably more visible….  Our natural experiences (sensory, emotional, imaginative) are
only like the drawing, like penciled lines on flat paper. If they vanish in the risen life, they
will vanish only as pencil lines vanish from the real landscape; not as a candle flame that is
put out but as a candle flame which becomes invisible because someone has pulled up the
blind, thrown open the shutters, and let in the blaze of the risen sun.

Living in the knowledge of the truth is living beyond the dungeon walls of what we know or understand.  What made sense in the dungeon walls no longer makes sense when we are exposed to the living knowledge of the truth.  Though we live in the walls of this world, our reality is no longer curtailed to the understanding of the world.

"If you belonged to the world, it would love you as it’s own.  As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.  That is why the world hates you.” John 15:19

Wisdom
“Happy is a person who finds wisdom and gains understanding.  For the profit of wisdom is better than silver, and her wages are better than gold.  Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left.  She will guide you down delightful paths; happy are those who hold her tightly.   By wisdom the LORD founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens.   By his knowledge the deep fountains of earth burst forth, and the clouds poured down rain.”  Proverbs 3:14-20

Wisdom, how opposite it is of what most of us think.  It is not some old hardened well- educated chap that has seen, heard, and experienced it all.
For wisdom is a child, you come by her through the Gate (Jesus Christ), and she grabs your hand and pulls you in- to green hills and lush green forests to the left.  You discover as you step through the Gate, you are no longer your age but a child.  Energy and a gleeful delight fills your soul and bubbles up as you both run like the wind.  Oh the joy of those who find wisdom and take hold of her.

Jesus said to his disciples,
Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3
I would say as we mature as children of God our reality has no place to sleep and rest on the things of this world but in God alone.  And there the banquets of fruit are produced and fill the tables of heaven.
The foxes that spoil the vine, the things of the fallen world and fallen understanding, are caught and they are seen/exposed for what they are- they are things that ruin what God wants to grow and prosper in our lives.
Every single day of this life we stand at a door, knowingly or unknowingly, where God asks, “Are you going to come in? Are you going to allow me to show you a better way to live?”
Jesus said,” The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
The thief is the master of trickery…
Who would think by letting go of your life you would save it or even find it but the thief wants you to keep it -that you might save it but you know what Jesus says,
“If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.” Matthew 10:39

As I thought about this I wondered how often does our understandings often collides with God’s will in our life because we haven’t surrendered it to Him fully.
Later I was reminded of a one of the books in my bed stand.  It’s a book written by Thomas a Kempis, called “The imitation of Christ”.
I looked at the table contents where I saw the title, “Pure and Entire Resignation of Self to Obtain Freedom of Heart”.
I turned there (page 98)
The Voice of Christ
My Child, renounce self and you shall find Me.  Give up your own self-will, your possessions, and you shall always gain.  For once you resign yourself irrevocably, greater grace will be given you.
The Disciple
How often, Lord, shall I resign myself? And in what shall I forsake myself?
The Voice of Christ
Always, at every hour, in small matters as well as great- I except nothing.  In all things I wish you be stripped of self.  How otherwise can you be mine or I be yours unless you be despoiled of (deprived/ relieved) of your own will (disposition, bias, preference, partiality) both inwardly and outwardly? The sooner you do this the better it will be for you, and the more fully and sincerely you do it the more you will please Me and the greater gain you will merit. Some there are who resign themselves, but with certain reservation; they do not trust fully in God and therefore they will try to provide for themselves.  Others, again, at first offer all, but afterward are assailed by temptation and return to what they have renounced, thereby making no progress in virtue (morality, integrity, righteousness, purity, goodness).  These will not reach the true liberty of a pure heart nor the grace of happy friendship with Me unless they first make a full resignation and daily sacrifice of themselves.  Without this no fruitful notion lasts nor will last.  I have said to you very often, and now I say again: forsake yourself, renounce yourself, and you shall enjoy great inward peace.  Give all for all.  Ask nothing, demand nothing in return.  Trust purely and without hesitation in Me, and you shall possess Me.  You will be free of heart and the darkness will not overwhelm you. Strive for this, pray for this, desire this- to be stripped of all selfishness and naked to follow the naked Jesus, to die to self and live forever for Me.   Then all vain imaginations, all wicked disturbances and superfluous cares will vanish.  Then also immoderate (heavy, unrestrained, reckless, unwarranted, unbridled) fear will leave you and inordinate (excessive care for self which causes unrestrained feelings or behavior) love will die.
To come/live in the knowledge of the truth we must let go/resign/surrender ourselves completely to the LORD in all matters in life that we might exist/abide/live- liberated in CHRIST JESUS (who is the way, the truth and the life) – John 14:6.
Nothing exists without Him, no power, no peace, no life, no knowledge of the truth, no liberation, no resurrection, no fullness of life, nothing satisfying exists without Him.
No wonder why John wrote;
“ In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. ” John 1:4-5

GOD of FIRE and LIVING WATER

While in prayer at a church board meeting recently I saw a vision of fire… fire that had no source.  It was floating in the air. It’s flames were neither reaching upward or downward.

It could have possibly been what they saw in the book of Acts, “Then what looked like flames of tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.” Acts 2:3
I am also reminded by the Spirit of this passage, “Now Moses was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.  Suddenly, the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush.  Moses was amazed because the bush was engulfed in flames, but it didn’t burn up.  “Amazing!” Moses said to himself.  “Why isn’t that bush burning up?  I must go over to see this.”  When the LORD saw that he had caught Moses’ attention, God called to him from the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
“Here I am!” Moses replied.
“Do not come any closer,” God told him.  Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.”  Exodus 3:1-5

We are living in a time where there is little respect for Living True God and His WORD.

Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29

God is a FIRE with no origin.  He has no creator or parent. He is GOD!

“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” Psalm 33:8

“To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.” Exodus 24:17

“But be assured today that the LORD your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the LORD has promised you.” Deuteronomy 9:3

That last one (Deuteronomy 9:3) reminds me a bit of a picture we see in Revelation…
“His eyes were bright like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns.  A name was written on Him, and only He knew what it meant.   He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the WORD of God.  The armies of heaven, dressed in pure white linen, followed Him on white horses.  From His mouth came a sharp sword, and with he struck down the nations.   He ruled them with an iron rod, and he trod the winepress with the fierce wrath of almighty God.  On His robe and thigh was written this title: King of kings and Lord or lords.”  Revelation 19:12-16

God is a FIRE that destroys those who are rebellious and don’t submit to Him.   God is a FIRE that should be given respected and awe.  God is the FIRE who we must seek for HE alone encourages, and strengthens and gives us living inspiration by His word and Spirit to carry on in a dark world.

A world that says what Isaiah writes,

“What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that the dark is light and light is dark, that the bitter is sweet and the sweet is bitter.  What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.  What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold.  They take bribes to let the wicked go free, and they punish the innocent.  Therefore, just as fire licks up stubble and dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will rot and their flowers wither.  For they have rejected the law of the LORD of Heaven Armies; they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 5:20-24

This world that will experience terrible sorrow when it’s Creator, the Lord, returns.  We are only seeing the birth pains of His coming with earthquakes, hail, floods, drought, fire, war, famine, hatred for what is good...

John the Baptist said about himself and Jesus, "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. "His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." Matthew 3:11-12

Some have forgotten and act as if they are God when deciding what is good and right.  They have disregarded God’s word.   Some have lost hope and/or don’t know God’s goodness and have drowned in what they see in the world but God reminds us that though we live in the world we are not of the world and these circumstances that surround us are not to define us or our mindset.  We cannot spiritually eat of what the world gives or else we become spiritually sick minded and the sick minded trust in only what they see in the world, which makes them blind to God and benefits of God.
We must continually walk by faith- prayer- Spirit and truth.  Faith changes things and we see in Jesus Christ all things are possible in a upside down world.

Because we live in this world it can feel “spiritually” suffocating at times… but in those times we must push off the world’s oppressive thirsty surface and seek the ROCK who gives refreshment to our soul.
The rock of Horeb where water flowed like a river into the desert.
Remember the rock of Horeb.
“I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.” Exodus 17:6

“Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.” Numbers 20:11

“He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them water as abundant as the seas;” Psalm 78:15

“He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.”  Psalm 105:41

That rock is an illustration of Jesus Christ who was struck for us to give us life and life more abundantly.  He is the perpetual spring living in us (Holy Spirit) as we live in this parched wilderness of a world.

But let us take careful note as we read further...

“And all of them drank the same miraculous water that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ.  Yet after this, God was not pleased with most of them, and he destroyed them in the wilderness.  These events happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did or worship idols as some of them did.  For the Scriptures say, “The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged themselves in pagan revelry.”  And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day.  Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites. And don’t grumble as some of them did, for that is why God sent his angel of death to destroy them.  All these events happened to them as examples for us.  They were written down to warn us, who live at the time when this age is drawing to a close.” 1 Corinthians 10:4-10

We know we cannot hope in what the world puts hope in for those things are only temporary, shortsighted, false and empty but we are to put our hope in GOD who is everlasting and eternal.  He is full of goodness, love, grace, compassion and mercy to help us stay on the right path.  And because our Hope is “living” and “active” we know none of us can become sufficient in ourselves. We do not have the strength alone nor do we know what we need at the precise time we need it to overcome the daily obstacles in our life but God does. We all need in these times the constant yoke of Jesus who the author and finisher of our faith.

“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke fits perfectly, and my burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

The mountain of Horeb, is not just a historical story but an illustration of who GOD is.  For from the Mountain of GOD, where there is FIRE came Jesus Christ who gives us the Holy Spirit, spiritual water, for our born again soul.

"He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.  The world cannot receive Him, because it isn't looking for Him and doesn't Recognize Him.  But you know Him, because he lives with you now and later will be in in you." John 14:17

Remember this is LIBERATING SUSTAINING LIVING TRUTH THAT SATISFIES THE SOUL! The world is constantly thirsty because it looks to everything else but God to be satisfied.  It will collapse and be destroyed by it's own doing because it refuses to turn, repent, and submit to God.

Remember the dream I was given by God to share with you.

“Do not partake from the sea of humanity but take from the Mountain, the ROCK- that gives only good life sustaining water.  For the water that comes from the sea makes one sick and naked and fruitless.  I have seen the seawater do what is unnatural.  Instead of staying in the sea it is pouring onto the land stripping the trees of their bark leaving them unprotected and exposed.   There are no leaves in their canopies; all the fruit has been laid to waste.  The lands have been poisoned.  The way into these lands is fenced off to my companions and I, to only witness the shame.  It is a hopeless land.  It is a cursed place.  It has trusted and given into the ways of man instead of God, the GREAT MOUNTAIN and ROCK.”

GOD is the GOD of FIRE and LIVING WATER

You want this living water for your soul in this thirsty world?  How about going to heaven when you die? How about being able to understand God's word?

In book of John that is written to the us, Jesus said to Nicodemus, a devoted religious man,

"Very truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of GOD unless they are born again." John 3:3

Jesus is saying no one can have the life giving spiritual benefits of God- the ones that nourish and encourage our soul, until we are born again.

Then in verse 5 & 6 Jesus says,

"Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to the flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit."

We cannot enter heaven without being born again in the Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the one in which we all must go and submit our life to be born again in the Spirit of God.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6

So if you want to go to heaven and have your life transformed, genuinely do these things from your heart with me.  Pray to the Lord.  Know that he paid with his life for you and me.  Know Jesus rose from the dead and now sits with next to the Father interceding for you and I today.

If you like can say these words with me.

JESUS, I have sinned and I have served the things of the world and I have become very thirsty and unsatisfied.   Please forgive me.  I want to give my life over you now, to be saved and for you to become LORD and Savior of my life.  That I can come to know you more intimately, that I will go to heaven when I Pass on from this life and I can have your life giving Spirit living in me so that I may understand and experience all that you have for me.  Thank you Jesus for all you have done and are going to do.  AMEN. AMEN. AMEN.
